AeroScout T6 GPS Tags

Combines GPS and Wi-Fi to Improve Operations in Large Outdoor Environments.

AeroScout’s GPS Wi-Fi Tags are ideal for large outdoor environments with minimal Wi-Fi infrastructure. The innovative tags combine GPS and Wi-Fi to enable accurate and cost-effective asset management. They are part of AeroScout’s Unified Asset Visibility solution that combines multiple data sources and technologies into one Wi-Fi-based system. With these tags, AeroScout helps its customers improve productivity and operational efficiency in outdoor areas, while leveraging existing Wi-Fi infrastructure to keep total costs low.

GPS and Wi-Fi Combination:

The tags use GPS to determine location in outdoor environments and standard Wi-Fi to transport asset location and other valuable information to the customer’s network.  The first step is establishing accurate location using GPS.  Then, the GPS coordinates as well as valuable status and condition information are sent via Wi-Fi to the network.  This keeps total costs low by leveraging both GPS and existing Wi-Fi infrastructure.

Variety of Environments:

AeroScout’s GPS Wi-Fi Tags work in virtually any outdoor environment.  They are ideally suited for areas where Wi-Fi infrastructure is sparse and difficult to supplement with access points, poles and posts.  In other words, AeroScout’s GPS Wi-Fi Tags allow accurate location without dense infrastructure.   Many environments are applicable, including airports, seaports, vehicle distribution centers, large yards and outdoor storage facilities.

Mobile and Ruggedized Form-Factor:

AeroScout’s GPS Wi-Fi Tags are battery powered, allowing them to be mobile and easily deployed.  They use standard batteries for ease of replacement.  The tags have multiple mounting options depending on the host assets and their environment.  They are also available with ruggedized housing.

Sensor and Telemetry Capabilities:

The GPS Wi-Fi Tags have a built-in motion sensor that conserves battery life by enabling less frequent transmissions when the tag is stationary.  When the tag is in motion, location monitoring and transmissions become more frequent.  In addition, AeroScout tags can include an external serial interface for data retrieval from host devices to monitor information such as mileage, pressure or fuel levels.  All of this information is sent wirelessly – appended to the location data.
